Cost Per m2 to Install New Plumbing
To help provide calculations for complex jobs, the average cost to install new plumbing is £30 per m2. This ranges between £25-£50 per m2.
This takes into account materials & labour costs, but for a further breakdown of plumber costs we have a handy article for that.
However, the usual things will affect this price – things like how long it’s going to take your plumber to install the new plumbing, the complexity of the work required & location (things are more expensive in places like London!).
Cost to Install Toilet Plumbing
If you’re thinking of relocating your existing toilet, or adding a new one, one of the key things that’s going to affect your decision is the price.
Replacing an existing toilet most of the time can be a straightforward thing, but when you’re dealing with changing the plumbing work surrounding the toilet it can get a little more complex.
You are likely going to need the flooring pulled up – so worth noting, the cost of this is not included here.
The average cost to install new toilet plumbing is around £2,500. This includes the pipework, labour and the toilet itself.
The range can be anything from £1,000 – £4,000 however. Depending on the challenges involved with your specific project, this may only take a few days to complete.
Cost to Install Shower Plumbing
New shower plumbing can either be easier than a new toilet or more difficult, and with that, it can either be cheaper or more expensive.
The average cost for new shower plumbing (including the shower!) is around £1,500. The range is between £1,000 – £4,500. The higher cost is for mixer showers that feed off the boiler, and as that takes more time to install, will add to the overall cost.
However, a straightforward electric shower that just requires a new cold feed installation & waste pipe will be a simpler job reducing the cost.
Cost to Install Sink Plumbing
Sinks are easy. Right? As I found out trying to install my own a few years back, it most definitely is not and I would 100% recommend getting professionals to do it.
The cost of a professional doing it on average is around £600 and it won’t take them a week to do (unless it’s a very complex job.)
The range of prices tends to be between £450 – £1,000.
Cost to Install Washing Machine/Dishwasher Plumbing
The average cost to install new washing machine or dishwasher plumbing is around £450, but ranges between £300 – £1,000.
These do not include the appliances themselves.
If it’s a simple install with the existing intake & waste in an easily accessible location it can be quick and only take a day. However, if they are not easily accessible be prepared to make some post-installation decorating work – this is also not included in the above costs.
As you can see, the cost to install new plumbing can vary wildly depending on a wide range of factors, but use the guide of £30 per m2 of pipework to help you gauge roughly what you might be expected to pay.
